Rise From The Ashes is a 501c3 nonprofit, in Chicago Illinois. Providing pro bono legal representation to victims in domestic violence shelters, RFTA aims to help women get divorced, gain custody of their children, and sever the legal ties that bind her to her abuser.

At RFTA, we know that a victim will never truly be free, until the law accepts that the relationship is over.

My husband said he was going to the store... and never came back. It's been a crazy life that's left me functional enough to survive yet dysfunctional enough to make me funny. I'm living my life devoid of most social graces while single parenting two young children and I absolutely love it....most days.
