Thank You For Being In My Heart

It’s Christmas!!

This has obviously been a strange year for me. I look back through these blog pages and I am astounded by not only how much I have grown, but by what an amazing support system that I have gained along the way, in all of you, my dear readers.

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, please know that you all mean the world to me. I know from talking with all of you that as amazing as this season is, it is also a season for painful pasts and navigating new lives.

If there is anything that I can give you this Christmas, it’s that I would like to remind you that unique purposes are taught only by creative lessons.

We may not have everything everyone else has and our roads might be harder, but if we allow ourselves the opportunity to embrace our differences as a means to becoming more than “normal,” but something truly amazing, we will realize that the hardships are simply training for the amazing people we are going to be.

You are not alone this season for I hold all of you in my heart.

Yours Truly,

Eden Strong

P.S. I told a few people about all of you and they have a few things they would like to say, so stay tuned for an interesting sort of “hello” from Mr. Attorney Man and a few others you have read about on this blog.

Merry Christmas, Eden. I hope it is everything you want and need for it to be this year (even if it looks differently than you thought it should). Thank you for being a ray of hope and sunshine.

It's all over now and I'm not sure how you feel, but for me there's definitely some relief in it being all over. Hope it was great for you, and that Santa was good to the kids!

It’s all over and I am relieved! It was a fun season, we made a lot of new memories and started a few traditions, but this girl was getting a little bit worn out. How was yours?

It's a long story. Let's just say that my mother in-law never approved of me or my relationship with my husband and made it abundantly clear. I don't know if it's me or if she would've hated anyone my husband decided to marry and settle down with. She certainly didn't hate my brother in-law's ex-fiance… She hated me more than she hated the woman her husband left her for and subsequently married. Well, in July she got into a bike accident that nearly killed her. She was in a coma for a week and had to have part of her skull removed to save her life. A generation ago she would've died. It might've been better if she had. She has been effected cognitively and while she used to be in excellent health, she now has to use a wheel-chair- though everyone is hopeful that she'll regain her mobility and her intellect. So we made the 8 hour journey to be there for the first holiday after the accident and so my husband and his siblings could go over her financials and plan things out with their aunt who has POA. Mother in-law is still in there and still hates me, I could see it in her eyes. We are still the unfavorites in the family, though we have gained status by producing the first grandchild. I just need to lower my expectations further before going into situations with his family. I am both well-liked and well-respected within my own family and friends and that status is extended to my husband so I'm always very surprised and hurt by his family.

I don't usually even bother to read the comments because I know about the trolls from my blob and they just annoy me, but after the whole “is she real” thing, I started scanning them here and there…and I have to ask…what the hell is with the “spells” and shit. Really? Cracks me up that they try to get to people through a blob.

Haha, I think they are spambots. My spam filter catches most of them and I delete as many as I can but sometimes they still get through. It’s amazing how many of them there are! I mean people must actually be contacting them if they are still willing to put in the time to all this spamming.

      ((shakes head))

Eden Strong

My husband said he was going to the store... and never came back. It's been a crazy life that's left me functional enough to survive yet dysfunctional enough to make me funny. I'm living my life devoid of most social graces while single parenting two young children and I absolutely love it....most days.
